Born in South Korea, Chef Jeff Kang arrived in Canada at age of 13 when his family relocated to Vancouver. He started his culinary journey at very young age in Japanese restaurants in Vancouver for eight years then worked in some of the best restaurant in the city such as C restaurant and Diva at the Met before moving to Toronto in 2012 to take the job as Chef de Cuisine at bosk in Shangri-la Hotel. In 2016, Jeff found a small unassuming space on Queen St West to open his first Restaurant, Canis.
Canis is tasting menu only restaurant focuses on Canadian ingredients and fermentation where him and his team experiment and discover new flavours to the plate. Late 2018, Jeff opened Apres wine bar on Queen west where the wine selection is based around producers with a natural and organic approach.
