Basque-Inspired Rub with Espelette Pepper
|piment d’Espelette (Espelette pepper powder)||3/4 cup|
|Italian Seasoning 225 g||1/4 cup|
|Onion Powder 480 g||2 tbsp|
|Sea Salt, French Mediterranean 1.1 kg||1 tbsp|
Mix all ingredients in small bowl until well blended. Store in tightly covered jar in cool, dry place.
Test Kitchen Tips:
• Piment d’Espelette can be found in specialty food stores or online. A hot paprika, such as McCormick Gourmet™ Hot Hungarian Paprika can be used as a substitute, if unable to find piment d’Espelette.
• This rub is also great on plancha grilled meats, burgers, vegetables, fish and poultry.
